Important Information about Upcoming Releases of your ASC Software Application

Date: June 16, 2008

Dear Valued Client,

This bulletin is to inform you of some important news regarding our products, and to communicate some upcoming events that will assist you in planning and preparing for the 2009 ASC Quality Measures requirements.  Throughout the remainder of 2008, we will be making several additions and upgrades to AdvantX, Vision, and SurgiSource, all in an effort to better serve you and to ensure that your facility is properly prepared to meet regulatory and reimbursement requirements.  Please refer to the section below pertaining to the SourceMedical application your facility currently uses.

Also, we hope that you will join SourceMedical and its customers for this year’s User Meetings in Nashville in September and Las Vegas in October. These events provide wonderful networking and learning opportunities. If you have not already done so, please click here to register! We hope to see you there!

SurgiSource

Despite any rumors you may have heard in the marketplace, there are no plans to discontinue the SurgiSource product or related services. To the contrary, several important and exciting additions are currently under development for the SurgiSource application.  In 3Q08, SurgiSource 4.6.3 will be released, which includes X12 for tertiary claims. In 4Q08, SurgiSource 4.7 will include new features designed to help your facility record and report on the 2009 CMS core quality measures, ensuring compliance with the CMS regulations scheduled to commence in January 2009.  This release will also include new features such as contract versioning, denial reporting, and more. In addition, the release coincides with engineering work and thorough testing is being completed to certify the SurgiSource application for use on Microsoft Vista equipped computers.

AdvantX

AdvantX users will also be seeing several exciting changes in the coming months, and similarly, there are no plans to discontinue the AdvantX product or related services.  AdvantX is currently undergoing significant modifications and testing to certify its compatibility with Microsoft Vista based computers and AdvantX Version 3.0 will provide a modernized user interface. This technology upgrade will insure that your AdvantX system can be fully supported for many more years to come.  AdvantX will also receive new functionality for recording and reporting the Quality components, and these will be released in advance of the January 2009 implementation.

Also, electronic remittance payment advice can now be processed automatically for AdvantX users that process claims through Zirmed, addressing a key element of our revenue cycle management focus in 2008.

Vision

Vision continues to be aggressively updated, including Version 2.6 in Q308 and Version 2.7 in Q408. Version 2.6 includes some key enhancements, including new features in the Vision InSight ad hoc reporting tool, as well as a new tool called EzForms.  EzForms is a simple, graphical method for creating forms such as registration sheets and insurance claims, and dramatically simplifies the process for customizing output and reduces the amount of time required to create or modify forms.  And, in preparation for the 2009 ASC Quality Measures implementation, Vision Version 2.7 will include new functionality to facilitate the recording and reporting of the CMS quality measures.  In addition, testing is being completed to certify the application for use on Microsoft Vista based equipment.   Also, Vision EHR, the fully integrated, customizable, and comprehensive charting system for ASCs has launched!  Vision EHR offers unprecedented functionality for Surgery Centers that desire cutting-edge technology to manage all aspects of clinical data capture and reporting throughout the facility.

New Products Added!

We are also pleased to announce that several new products have been added for SurgiSource, AdvantX, and Vision users; SourcePlus Passport, SourcePlus Instrument Tracking, and SourcePlus Purchase Connection (PCX).  Passport is a new tool that automatically emails upcoming patients with invitations to a secure web site where they can answer important medical history questions, saving valuable nursing time. Instrument Tracking streamlines the entire process related to preparing instruments and trays, logging sterilization, and instrument maintenance.  And, PCX is a new tool that connects your inventory module to your supply vendors, allowing you to electronically send POs, and access order fulfillment, and pricing updates.  For more information please contact your Account Manager, or visit our SourcePlus Products page for more information.

These are just a few of the highlights of the many important improvements we are making to all of the SourceMedical applications.  We are committed to doing everything possible to insure that all SourceMedical systems will continue to provide our clients with unsurpassed value for years to come.  We realize that our commitment to you goes beyond just the software applications.  It includes making sure that we constantly seek new ways to improve how we serve you, and how we provide you with the information and tools that you need to maximize the benefits of our products.  If you have not done so already, we encourage you to visit our new web site and sign up for secure access to the new customer portal.  Here, you can submit and check statuses of service tickets, download updates and other valuable training material, share tips and advice with other users, and learn about important events in your area and throughout the US.   To sign up, please click here.
